The Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra were honoured on Friday 13th May to be asked
to play for the first time in Dunlop church. To add to the enjoyment of the
evening the Gill family very kindly offered to host a BBQ for all the
players before the concert. We were fortunate to have excellent weather and
the Gill’s were fabulous hosts. The concert was a huge success, everyone was
extremely complimentary to us, for both our playing and behaviour on the
night. I was asked by a member of the audience on how I enjoyed Hout Bay
after hearing David speak about it during the concert. She took a lot of
interest in what I told her and how it was a life changing experience. One
of the highlights of the evening was Miriam’s highland fling. The
merchandise stall did a roaring trade selling out on tea towels ! All in all
a most enjoyable evening of food, music, dance and fun.
