Our annual trip to Scotland’s Holiday Isle was last weekend. We left Ayr at 11am for the 12.30pm ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick, give our Concert in Whiting bay Hall with our guests The Arran Fiddle Club, and then stay overnight in the superb Arran Outdoor Education Centre in Lamlash.
This trip is always a great opportunity, especially for our younger players, to get to know other members of the Orchestra and the way the group works on Tour and on some of the various trips that the orchestra takes.
As always our Saturday Concert was in Whiting Bay Hall.
This year we reverted to the original Sunday morning pattern – established 31 years ago! – of taking part in the Morning Service at Whiting Bay Church with a small group providing the musical input.
After lunch in the Church Hall we traveled to Auchrannie Resort Games Hall for some energetic activities including swimming before getting the ferry home.
