The biggest night of the year for the orchestra in undoubtably the AFO Christmas Concert. This is the first chance that the new players will play on stage with all the other members of the orchestra.
The concert just goes to show all the hard work everyone has put in since starting back in August. After the tour many of the senior members left the orchestra to go on to University, however this has not slowed AFO down at all, as we have been joined by so many new young players.
These new members were able to show our audience what they could do with a solo number and I can safely say that in my time in the orchestra I have never heard a new group of players as good as this lot.
The concert also featured other groups including Ciaran, Fraser and Ross who debuted Karegia a tune written by Ciaran while on tour. It was a fantastic tune, which had all of the tour players wishing we were back in Africa.
