The night started with a free concert in Troon Old Parish Church at 7pm.
The lovely sunshine didn’t stop many from coming through the doors to listen to the orchestra kick off the fundraising event. All the players were very energetic, but this was just hour 1 after all, there was still a long way to go.
The audience matched this enthusiasm with clapping their hands and stamping their feet.
It is a different challenge that we haven’t yet faced in my experience in AFO, and I look forward to the night. – Joely Campbell
The Ceilidh followed the hour long concert from 8pm-11pm. With over 100 people in attendance the dance floor was always full. The food – provided by the 2017 tour adults – was well received, there is barely any left for the night shift players. Luckily there is a 24/7 Tesco just a short drive away, a supplies were sent for before the night shift began.
The night shift started at 11pm, and by 1pm everyone was in pajama’s, and spirits were still high, there was lots of excitement and the music kept flowing
